Thornless Mexican (Key) Lime has deliciously fragrant flowers that attract birds and butterflies. This makes it an excellent choice for a porch or patio plant. The tree can grow to 12 ft.-15 ft. tall as long as its in a location where the ambient overnight temperature is above 50 degrees F. In the meantime, choose an indoor location such as a sunroom or even a sunny window. The tree blooms in spring and fall and bears small green fruits. It prefers moist, well-drained, neutral to acid (sour) soil. This easy to grow lime will provide you with an abundant amount of fruit and is sure to be a conversation starter for any gardner.
