The Fire Chief Arborvitae (Thuja Occidentalis ‘Congabe’ PP19009) is a nearly perfectly globe-shaped shrub that has finely textured, bright golden spring foliage and fantastic deep red fall color. This Thuja Shrub is a sport of the popular Rheingold variety has more intense coloration and is less prone to splitting. With the Fire Chief Arborvitae, no pruning is necessary to maintain its compact, rounded form. This low-maintenance bush will mature to 2-4 feet tall by 2-4 feet wide and is perfect way to bring year-round interest to your foundation plantings, borders, accents, in containers, in mass plantings, or as a rock garden specimen. This low growing arborvitae will grow best in a full sun to part shade location in USDA Zones 5a-8b (Hardy to -20° to -10° F).
